WHAT TO BRING

MEDICAL HISTORY FORM

It’s very important that you print, fill out and bring this form on your first day.

NOTE: BVC staff members are not responsible for monitoring personal medications and are not authorized to dispense, hold or monitor medications under any circumstances. If you have a medical condition that requires medication be available to you on-site, please notify the Site Director to make arrangements.

CLOTHING & SWIMWEAR

Dress in a swimsuit or other comfortable beach clothes (shorts, t-shirt).  We recommend light colors that reflect sunlight and keep you cool. All campers will receive an official camp t-shirt / rash guard / uniform on their first day.

Even if your child doesn’t think they want to go in the water, please encourage him/her to wear a bathing suit. Campers typically want to go in the water when they see how much fun kids are having. Plus, campers playing in the sand could get wet and will be more comfortable in a quick drying swimsuit. (Hint for Girls: 2 piece suits make bathroom visits much easier! If your camper chooses a one piece suit she will have to remove both her uniform camp t-shirt and her bathing suit each time she uses the restroom.)

FOOTWEAR

Bring sandals or shoes to walk between parking lots, restrooms, and sand. Bring sand socks or athletic socks or aqua socks in case the sand gets very hot, as these stay on campers feet better than shoes (available at sporting goods stores and online).

LUNCH - BRING OR ORDER

Your child can bring a lunch or order catered lunch upon morning arrival.

BAG OR BACKPACK

Campers store their bags in the camp tents. Place your name and any other identifying information INSIDE your bag. Campers are responsible for items they bring with them.  Staff are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

SUNSCREEN

Camps are conducted on the beach and sunscreen is essential. Please apply sunscreen liberally to your child’s entire body BEFORE arriving at camp. We supply sunscreen for the re-applications we do throughout the day. If your child has any sensitivity to traditional sunscreen, please send your preferred brand and be sure to tell your child they will need to inform their counselor to use that specific sunscreen for re-application.

HEAD & EYEWEAR

Bring a hat or visor and sunglasses, but be aware they are easily misplaced at the beach because they are taken off to go in the water. Please only send easily replaceable items.

LIGHT SNACKS & PERSONAL BEVERAGES

Water is provided on-site for all campers at regular breaks. If you want something else to drink or eat then bring it. A few suggestions for “sand friendly” items are string cheese, pudding or yogurt cups, bananas, Lunchables, single serving packages of Goldfish crackers or other crackers/chips, and baby carrots. We provide plenty of water, but it is nice to have some Gatorade or fruit juice as well.

BEACH TOWEL OR MAT

Label Everything with both first and last names. Our camps are located directly on the beach, and camper's belongings can get lost in the sand, despite our best efforts,
